Welcome to AvtechTyee
Premier supplier of highly engineered solutions and manufacturer of structural components, assemblies of close tolerance metal components and systems to the commercial and military aerospace industry.
Carbon Fiber Rods Carbon Fiber Rods: The use of Carbon fiber materials in rod designs, combined with design for manufacturing techniques consistently produces weight savings of greater than 30% compared with traditional metallic rods. AvtechTyee offers rods using a variety of manufacturing methods: Bladder Molding, Compression Molding, Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM), Mandrel Wrapping, Polymeric Mandrel Molding, Foam Injection Molding, Filament Winding. Force Sensor Rods Force Sensor Rods: AvtechTyee's Force Sensor Rod is designed to capture pilot input forces for control wheel, control column and rudder pedals. Complies with FAA cockpit flight control input force requirements for Part 121, Part 125, Part 129 and Part 135. At a diameter of only .630 inches [16 mm] the AvtechTyee Force Sensor Rod is the most lightweight compact design on the market. The load cell with incorporated miniature voltage regulator and amplifier adds a mere 0.1 lbs. [0.05 kg] to any existing control rod configuration.
Struts Struts: Struts are thin walled in the tube body and then transition into heavy material on each end. The heavy material allows for machined clevis ears, heavy internal or external threads or a tang, which can be bored for a bearing cartridge. Struts manufactured from 15-5 Stainless Steel are light weight with excellent fatigue and static strength capabilities and represent AvtechTyee's "high end" product line . However AvtechTyee does provide a wide range of aluminum struts in it's product line. Dynamic Devices Dynamic Devices: Used in flight controls to provide a means to operate dual control systems in tandem or independently AvtechTyee can design telescopic control rods or torque tube systems the can separate with cable controls. AvtechTyee also offers a range of Jet Engine nacelle or access panel door hold open rods, dampening "Snubber" telescopic rods, and pneumatic energy storage devices. If you have a motion problem AvtechTyee has a solution.
Control Rods Control Rods: Flight Control Rods are the mechanical linkages between the pilot and the control surfaces that maneuver the aircraft. Control Rods must be designed to withstand fatigue loading as well as static loading. Normally a control rod is designed to a predetermined ultimate static load with the understanding that the rod will experience an undetermined fatigue load. Historically, the fatigue load associated with control rods is approximately only ten percent or less the design static load. Because of this fact, control rods are chiefly designed with aluminum alloys utilizing stainless steel inserts. This configuration is by far the most cost to weight effective while exhibiting excellent fatigue strength. Tie Rods Tie Rods: Tie rods are the most basic of rods that are only designed to withstand ultimate static loads. Tie rods are widely used in modern aircraft and are manufactured in numerous configurations. Tie rods help attach galleys in place, support storage bins, buttress bulk heads or adjust aircraft skins for optimum shape. Tie rods are the cartilage that hold airplanes together. Design considerations are mostly dependent on ultimate static strength, costs and ease in rigging. Tie rods seldom require inserts and are most often turnbuckle configurations for quick efficient rigging. Most commonly used materials are 2024 aluminum and 304 stainless steel.
End Fittings End Fittings: Rod end styles are as varied today as are the number of assemblies utilizing them. As designers look to producing the lightest weight, most cost effective products, they feel free to design for each individual application. As a result, AvtechTyee has acquired the expertise in end fitting design and manufacturing to provide you with weight and cost efficient fittings. AvtechTyee has manufactured rod ends from a variety of materials: 2024 and 7075 Aluminums; 303, 304, 15-5, 17-4 and A286 Stainless Steels; 4130 and 4340 Alloy Steels and 6 AL-4V Ti. Let AvtechTyee analyze your end fitting requirements, and provide you with the best production effective and the least weight design.
